What we do

Four ways to use a driver

Every price below is per car, not per person, and every one is a โ€œfromโ€ price for a standard 4-seat car.
  • Airport transfers

Your driver waits at arrivals with your name on a card, at the price we agreed.

from IDR 175,000per car, one way to Kuta

  • Day tours with a driver

8โ€“10 hours, pickup anywhere in the south or Ubud, the route decided with you.

from IDR 700,000per car, full day

  • Multi-day itineraries

Three to seven days across the island, built around your hotels and your pace.

from IDR 650,000per car, per day

  • Hourly & full-day hire

Same driver all day, waiting while you're inside. Dinner, shopping, a wedding.

from IDR 400,000per car, half day

Prices are set and charged in Indonesian rupiah. Other currencies are an approximate guide and move with the exchange rate. Every price is per car, not per person, and is a โ€œfromโ€ price for a standard 4-seat car (Avanza or similar): a 6โ€“7 seat MPV runs roughly 30โ€“50% more, an 8-seat HiAce van roughly double.

The drivers

You're hiring a person, not an app

Every driver is Balinese and lives here. They know which road the ceremony closes, when Uluwatu clogs up, and which warung is worth the stop. You get the same driver all day, and we tell you his name before you land.

The five cards below are placeholders. Replace each name, village, year count, language list and sentence with the driver's own words.

Two more on request

Nusa Penida โ€” fast boat from Sanur, Kelingking, Angel's Billabong, Crystal Bay. A long, hot, genuinely tiring day, and we'll tell you that before you book. Amed โ€” the coastal snorkelling and the Japanese wreck. Both are priced separately because they include a boat.

The quieter version

Where we'd take you instead

Some of the famous places are worth the crowd โ€” Uluwatu at sunset earns it. But for most of them there's a version twenty minutes away with the same view and nobody in it. Here's the trade, plainly.
  • Everyone goes to

    Tegallalang rice terraces

    We'd take you to

Belimbing terraces in Tabanan, or the Subak Juwuk Manis walk just outside Ubud

Same view, no entry gate, no queue for the swing.

  • Everyone goes to

    Tegenungan waterfall

    We'd take you to

    Tibumana, or Gembleng in Karangasem

Smaller, quieter, and you can actually swim.

  • Everyone goes to

    Besakih, the mother temple

    We'd take you to

    Pura Kehen in Bangli

Ancient, carved, almost empty, and no compulsory guide at the gate.

  • Everyone goes to

    Canggu

    We'd take you to

Seseh, ten minutes up the coast

Black sand, warungs, no queue for a table.

  • Everyone goes to

Ubud for a coffee with a rice view

    We'd take you to

The family warungs on the lanes through Junjungan and Payangan

Same paddies, local prices, nobody filming.

  • Everyone goes to

    A hotel pool

    We'd take you to

Banjar hot springs near Lovina, early

Stone dragon spouts, mostly Balinese families at that hour.

  • Everyone goes to

    Kuta sunset

    We'd take you to

    Balian on the west coast

Surfers, driftwood, and the road out is empty.

Many of our drivers grew up in these villages. Tell us what kind of day you want and we'll build the route around it.

Multi-day

A route we build together

IDR 650,000 per day for the car and driver, plus IDR 250,000 per night when the driver stays away from home โ€” that covers his guesthouse and his meals, and it goes to him. Send your dates, your hotels and what you like; we send back a day-by-day plan with one number at the bottom.
  • Three days, two sides of Bali

    • Day 1 โ€” south coast and Tanah Lot into Ubud.
    • Day 2 โ€” Ubud, waterfalls and Tirta Empul.
    • Day 3 โ€” east through Sidemen to the coast at Padang Bai or Amed.

from IDR 650,000per car, per day

  • Five days, the full loop

    • Day 1 โ€” south into Ubud.
    • Day 2 โ€” Ubud and the waterfalls.
    • Day 3 โ€” Sidemen and the east.
    • Day 4 โ€” Munduk and the lakes.
    • Day 5 โ€” Pemuteran on the north-west coast, then back down the west side.
    • Sleeps in a different place most nights. We can suggest the guesthouses we'd send our own families to.

from IDR 650,000per car, per day

  • Seven days, the loop plus an island

    • The same five-day route, at a slower pace in the middle.
    • Two nights added for Nusa Penida or Menjangan.
    • Boat tickets priced separately, always quoted before you book.

Arrivals between midnight and 6am carry a night fee of IDR 100,000. It is stated in your quote, never added afterwards.

If a quote you see elsewhere is far below these numbers, something has been left out of it โ€” usually petrol, the hours, or the driver's lunch.

How it works

Three steps, in order

  1. 1

    Message us with your dates

WhatsApp is fastest. Tell us your flight, your hotel, and roughly what you want to do.

  2. 2

We confirm a fixed price and a named driver

One number, per car, in rupiah. Nothing is booked until you agree to it.

  3. 3

He meets you at arrivals with a sign

Your name on a card, past the crowd, at the time we agreed.

  • Price agreed before you book.
  • Air-conditioned car with a seatbelt for everyone.
  • English-speaking driver.

Included

What's included, and what isn't

Included

  • Fuel
  • Parking
  • Tolls
  • The driver's own meal
  • Cold water
  • Air conditioning

Not included

  • Attraction entrance tickets, paid in cash at each gate, typically IDR 20,000โ€“150,000 per person per site
  • Your own meals
  • The tourist levy, IDR 150,000 per person per entry

Overtime beyond the agreed finish is IDR 100,000 per hour, charged in half hours. We say so at the time, not on the invoice afterwards.

Before you land

Four things worth knowing

Practical, and specific to Bali.
  • Grab and Gojek can't collect you at the airport.

Ride-hailing pickups aren't permitted at Ngurah Rai arrivals, which is why the walk out of the terminal turns into a wall of people shouting โ€œtransport, boss.โ€ Book ahead and your driver is standing there with your name on a card.

  • Pay the tourist levy before you fly.

Every foreign visitor pays IDR 150,000 per person, once per entry, including children. Pay on the official Love Bali portal, save the QR code as a screenshot, and don't use the lookalike sites that charge more. It's separate from your visa.

  • Traffic is a timing problem, not a distance problem.

Canggu between 5 and 7pm, the single road on and off the Bukit before the Kecak dance, Ubud centre at midday. Nothing on the map explains it. Our drivers just leave earlier.

  • Ceremonies close roads, sometimes with no notice.

A procession can shut a village for an hour. That isn't a delay in your day, it's the reason you came โ€” and your driver will know the way round it, or when it's better to stop and watch.

  • Nyepi is [NEXT_NYEPI_DATE], if your dates are close.

The whole island shuts down for 24 hours. The airport closes, and nobody drives. If your trip touches that date, tell us early and we'll plan around it.

Who you're dealing with

A small company with names

Placeholder portrait of [OWNER_NAME], who runs the office side of the company

[OWNER_NAME] is Belgian, lives in Bali, and answers the messages: fixed prices agreed up front, fast replies in fluent English, no haggling at the airport, and a proper invoice if you need one. The driving is Balinese, and that's the service โ€” the roads, the ceremonies that close them, the warung worth stopping at, the hour when Uluwatu clogs up. The drivers are named and pictured above.
